Elkhorn Ranch welcomes Rebekah and Matt Rolland, who perform together as Riso, to our Residence Program, in which talented people join the ranch community for a week to inspire, teach and entertain.
Rebekah and Matt will enjoy the Elkhorn experience alongside our guests ~ in the dining room and on the trail. Their presence integrates distinctive folk, bluegrass, and americana songwriting and music with Elkhorn’s unique blend of camaraderie, wilderness riding or hiking, and Sonoran desert relaxation.

Highlighting the interplay between Rolland’s nimble fiddle, mandolin, and guitar playing and Rebekah’s wistful and emotive songwriting, RISO’s debut album, New Eyes, feels like the natural growth of an old tradition, flourishing into something new. Their songs will break your heart and fix it again.
PROGRAMS OFFERED BY REBEKAH AND MATT WILL INCLUDE MUSIC ON THE PORCH; FIRESIDE CONVERSATION ABOUT SONGWRITING, FIDDLE AND BLUEGRASS MUSIC; AND AN INTIMATE ATMOSPHERE ACOUSTIC MUSIC CONCERT EXPERIENCE.
As musicians, they have been twice featured on the popular radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, participated as artists-in-residence for the National Parks Centennial, and collaborated on seven studio albums. Their music has been described as “a slice of folk perfection” by Americana UK and honored as one of Pop Matters’ top three ‘Best Folk Albums of the Year’.
