RANCH DINING
The Long House and its inviting patio, shaded by venerable mesquite tree, gather the ranch community for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. The setting is casual and conversational. Families and friends gather at four indoor tables that seat 8 – 10 people and outdoor seating encourages people to spread out into smaller conversational groups. Two fireplaces anchor the dining and sitting room ends of the Long House, creating ambiance and welcome warmth during the winter months. Patio heaters make outdoor dining inviting throughout the fall, winter and spring seasons. The ranch has no bar, rather people entertain in cabins or bring a bottle of wine along to supper. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available for sale in the ranch office store.
THE CAMARADERIE ENJOYED AT MEALS AND ON THE TRAIL IS AN UNEXPECTED PLEASURE OF THE ELKHORN EXPERIENCE
All meals are served buffet style, with the exception of breakfast where you may also order breakfast of your choice. Each meal features baked goods prepared in the Elkhorn kitchen from scratch as well as fresh produce. Lunch entrees range from enchiladas to soups, salads and sandwiches to pizza to hearty chile ~ always followed by an enticing tray of fresh cookies. All day rides are offered two days each week where you eat lunch on the trail; and everyone gathers for the Saturday picnic on the desert. Supper entrees feature a thoughtful balance of protein, carbohydrates and vegetables accompanied by salad and fresh baked bread followed by dessert. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan or other adjustments necessary for allergies or dietary preferences are integrated into the menu as needed.
Your dietary needs are important to us and we will provide an easy opportunity to give us advance guidance when you make your reservation. This advance notice helps us take care of you! We are also happy to prepare special cakes for special celebrations!
Elkhorn partners with Shamrock Foods, a multi-generation Arizona based company with deep roots in Arizona agriculture. Given our remote location and the challenges of food delivery, a big walk-in freezer is a critical tool. Nonetheless, you will find plenty of fresh produce and careful food management for good health and freshness. We strive to use scratch ingredients and techniques so that you can enjoy the best of home cooking and feeling at home, with none of the work!
