Workshop led by Curt Gerston and Laura McCarthy

Unravel the mysteries of still photography and video using a camera, smartphone or other image capturing device — plus learn what you can do with all those great images!

The day often begins at the barnyard capturing the light and action of the morning wrangle or an early walk to photograph the morning sunrise over the Altar Valley. Enjoy horseback riding, hiking, birdwatching and relaxation with your camera in hand as much or little as you choose. Late afternoon and after dinner workshop presentations are scattered through the week, ending with a group slide show Saturday evening.

Workshop activities add creative flair and camaraderie to your Arizona dude ranch vacation week. Everyone at the ranch is welcome to participate throughout the week. There is no extra charge for this workshop.

Curt Gerston and Laura McCarthy will return to lead the workshop.

Curt is a pro with all cameras and lenses whereas Laura is an iPhone fan. Curt has been an avid photographer since his father bought him his first camera as a teenager. He is now retired after teaching arts, technology and photography in Seattle Public Schools for 25 years.

Laura McCarthy is a retired teacher and an experienced world traveler who loves to plan trips that include elements of cultural immersion and community service.

Curt and Laura have been coming to Elkhorn for over 20 years with their parents and kids.

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

“Thank you again for a most wonderful week and lovely Christmas. It was so wonderful to be back and “come home for Christmas”. It was great to see all of you and meet up with old friends and make new ones. You really know how to make us all feel so much at home. Many, many thanks for all that you do for all of us.”
